The Cost of Urban Expansion
Lifestyle Geography is partnering with CREATE Core Courage to shed light on Earth Justice. Since 1986 over 44,000 acres have been converted to urban spaces in Monmouth County of which 86% used to be agriculture or forest. As more land is turned from green space to gray space we increasingly the tax the environment, deplete resources and increase pollution. Furthermore, green spaces support human health and wellness and are necessary to create resilience in the environment. Our mission is to bring awareness to the true cost of urban expansion our health and the health of the planet.
